The Shark AI robot vacuum is a solid machine that has a large debris container and decent maneuverability. However, it has slower room mapping than pricier models and could miss interpret common objects such as power cords as obstacles to avoid.

The Shark app allows you to schedule your entire home cleaning from anywhere and provides helpful reports. It also lets you define no-go zones as well as other preferences.

EZ Robot Self-Empty

The EZ Robot Self Empty is a robotic vacuum cleaner that makes cleaning your home an easy task. However, it may struggle to clean rugs that have tassels and carpets that are thick. It is able to detect obstacles like low-lying objects like electrical cords, and move them around, if necessary. It is quiet and has two side brushes that remove debris from edges and corners.

In our tests, EZ Robot cleaned my entire 1,100 square feet main floor quickly and efficiently. It took an hour to charge, and was ready for the next cleaning session less than half of the time. The EZ Robot has smart sensors to prevent it from falling on a staircase or other obstacles. It also makes detailed maps of your home to identify areas in need of more attention.

We tested the EZ Robot against the iRobot Roomba 694, and the iRobot performed better in all categories. The iRobot feels more robustly-built, has a larger dirt compartment capacity because of its dust bin that is external, cleans up debris better on low and high-pile carpet, maneuvers more easily, and allows you to define virtual boundary lines using the companion app. The iRobot is faster to charge and has a greater maximum battery life.

The battery life is great with a battery life of over an hour in "Max mode" with the highest suction. On its energy-efficient 'Eco' mode, it can run for up to two and one-half hours. The status of the robot is displayed on the companion app, and the lights at the top indicate the state of charge. When both lights are blue, it's fully charged; when one goes off, and the other turns red, it's about to run out of power.

The app is simple to use and gives you complete control over the robot's settings. You can change the robot's power mode, receive push notifications, set up a cleaning schedule and look up its history. It is compatible with Alexa and Google Assistant so you can control the robot using voice commands. It also has an auto mode that adjusts the power of cleaning depending on the type of surface.

It is also more robust, has a more durable battery, and has lower costs.

AI Robot

The AI Robot is a 2-in-1 robot that isn't expensive and has great maneuverability. It also has smart features, making it a good choice for homes with small spaces. It operates quickly and efficiently on all kinds of floors, rarely gets stuck, and has a large dust bin at its base station, which only has to be cleaned once every 45 days. It has a feature where you can set boundaries for it to ensure it doesn't accidentally clean around or into rooms you do not want.

The only downsides to the AI Robot are that it's less dependable than my favorite overall robot vacuum (the Roborock Q5 which is a shrewdly reliable model+) and has a somewhat lower performance on high-pile carpet. It's also louder and has trouble collecting debris between wood planks or tiles. However, it still has many of the features I want in a robot, such as the ability to self-empty, and it's a lot less expensive than the competing iRobot Roomba 981 (9/10, WIRED recommends).

This smart bot does an excellent job cleaning the majority of surfaces however it's poor on carpets with a high pile. It's great on plain floors, and its sensor system permits it to effortlessly climb over electrical cords and rug tassels without getting stuck. It's also among the only robots that has self-emptying docks, which drastically reduces your hands-on maintenance tasks and costs that are recurring.

The AI Robot, like the EZ Robot Self Empty and Matrix Robot is compatible with Alexa or Google Home devices so you can control with voice commands. It's also compatible with iCloud, which means you can sync it with your iPhone or iPad and utilize the SharkClean app to control it from anywhere.

The app comes with a variety of options, but sometimes the interface may be a bit clunky. You can schedule, create virtual boundaries and track the health and charge status of your robot. You can also schedule reminders for cleaning time and more. You can also connect your smartphone to the robot and allow you to control it from any area of your home and manage its smart functions using the Wi-Fi connection on your phone or tablet.
